Experience the un-spoiled, natural environment of the people and culture of Nusa Penida. It takes about 30 minutes to get there via a fast speed boat from Sanur, Bali. There are just a few homestays and Western tourism is a relatively new concept to them. The Villagers are friendly and enjoy sharing and learning a few words. The coral reef is just a few metres away from the shore, and its interesting to negotiate the maze of seaweed nets to get there- quite interesting with a mask, snorkel and fins! . |

To reached Nusa Penida by boat from Sanur (other options are from Benoa, Padangbai or Candidasa) and arrived at Toyapakeh Harbor. If you are a diver, you should visit Nusa Penida for sure. The island has many diving spots such as Toyapakeh, Gamat bay, PED, Crystal Bay, Manta Point and Manta Cove, etc. You have a good chance to encounter amazing animals such as Manta Rays and MolaMolas (Oceanic Sunfish). But if you don't, you can still enjoy the incredible coral structures and rich marine life. The visibility is excellent, it is around 15-25 meters. The island is not major tourists destinations compared to Bali mainland or its neighboring island Nusa Lembongan, but they have enough facilities. Nusa Penida is the largest of three islands off the south eastern coast of Bali, the others being Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Totalling some 200 square kilometres, Nusa Penida is much larger than the better known Nusa Lembongan. However, tourist infrastructure is very limited here. It is, though, an island of stunning natural rugged beauty, and tourism-related development plans have been rumoured and mooted to no effect for many years now. more information about Nsa Penida Clik here |
